On Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 7 p.m., Professional Boxing will be back in Gretna, Louisiana.  Join us at the Mel Ott Center for a night filled with action packed Professional Boxers that you will not want to miss. Professional Boxing in Gretna has brought out boxing fans, local politicians, businessmen, and anyone else that enjoys a great time.

The Main Event will feature Jeanpier Augustine, a heavyweight originally from Haiti now residing in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Augustine comes in to town with an undefeated record of 11 Wins 0 Losses and 1 Draw. Augustine is not only making his mark in Boxing, but also as an actor in the 2016 box office hit “Bleed For This,” the life story of boxing legend Vinny Pazienza. Augustine did not stop his acting career there, starring as the lead role as World Heavyweight Champion John Tate in a movie coming out in late 2017 about his phenomenal boxing career.

Augustine for now will have to put the acting aside and fight one of his toughest opponents yet. He will face Gilberto Domingos from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Domingos comes to Gretna with 23 Wins and 7 Losses, 20 of those wins coming by Knockout. Domingos is traveling all this way to not only fight but to give Augustine his first loss.

Jonathan Guidry, Heavyweight from Dulac, Louisiana, has an outstanding record of 6 wins, 0 loss, and 2 draws. Guidry has fought in Gretna before and has been requested to return by the boxing fanatics. His power has left a lasting impression on his opponents and the spectators. Guidry’s last fight was a draw against Kennan Hickman (5 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw) from Baton Rouge, Louisiana who was coming off a sensational knockout against Ray Edwards who was undefeated with a record of 12 wins 0 losses and 1 draw at the time of the fight. Guidry will not only be welcomed from the local crowd but also with the entourage that follows him from Dulac.

Curtis “Hardknocks” Johnson Jr. a hometown favorite fighting out of Gretna, Louisiana. Johnson has an unblemished Professional record of 5 wins and 0 losses, 4 of them coming by way of Knockout will look to keep his record perfect. Johnson amateur career consisted of State, Regional, and National Titles which rose him to the national rankings in his weight class to Number 4 in the Nation.

Rennard “Flash” Oliver from Terrytown, Louisiana with a record of 4 wins, 0 losses, and 2 draws will continue to awe the crowd with his lighting fast hands and feet. Oliver has fought in 4 different states in his short career which shows he not afraid to fight in someone else backyard.
