Gulf Coast Athletic Conference names SUNO trio Volleyball Players of the Week

New Orleans (GCAConf.com) – The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference office announced today the GCAC Volleyball Players of the Week for the fourth week of the 2015 season.

Southern University at New Orleans took all three awards this week with Adriana Titonea winning Attacker of the Week, Ana Privat earned Defender of the Week honors, and Marija Stojijkovic named as Setter of the Week.

GCAC Attacker of the Week: Adriana Titonea, SUNO (SR, MB, Sibiu, Romania)

Adriana Titonea helped lead the SUNO Lady Knights to a 3-0 record this week. In those matches she totaled 46 kills and 11 digs. For the week she averaged 3.83 kills per set with a .591 attack percentage. This is her first Attacker of the Week award.

GCAC Defender of the Week: Ana Privat, SUNO (SR, L/DS, Belgrade, Serbia)

Ana Privat, an All-GCAC selection last season, has once again been stellar for SUNO as one of the top defenders in the GCAC. She collected 84 digs in the Lady Knights’ three wins and averaged 7 digs per set for the week. Her reception percentage in three matches was .870.

GCAC Setter of the Week: Marija Stojijkovic, SUNO (FR, S, Belgrade, Serbia)

Marija Stojijkovic wins her first Setter of the Week award after posting back-to-back season highs in assists in games against Pensacola Christian College. She tallied 47 assists in a 3-2 road win and followed that up with 48 assists two days later. For the week Stojijkovic totaled 109 assists in three matches.
