Alexandria, LA – The Generals women’s soccer team picked up a pair of new student-athletes as Kamryn Abbott and Anaice Hackett have signed Letters of Intent to play at LSUA, head coach Michael Poropat announced.

Abbott, from Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas, well help keep the ball out of the net as a goal keeper for the Generals. This season with the Bobcats, she ranked second in her district by picking up four victories in net with only one loss. She is finishing out her senior year and will join the Generals in the fall as a nursing major.

Hackett, from Teurlings Catholic high School in Lafayette, Louisiana, will fortify the back line for the Generals as defensive midfielder. She was an All-District player in her first three seasons with the Lady Rebels, with this year’s awards still yet to be handed out. She was also named an All-State player as a freshman in 2014 and All-Acadiana and All-Metro in 2016. She has already been invited to play in an All-Star game this year, once the season is complete. After finishing out her senior year this year, she will join the Generals in the fall.

Both players are expected to be on the pitch in time for the 2017 soccer season.
