RUSTON – Three former Louisiana Tech men’s basketball players recently wrapped up action during the NBA Summer League.
Jaron Johnson, Michale Kyser and reigning Conference USA Player of the Year Alex Hamilton each took part in the offseason competition for their respective teams.
Hamilton competed for the Los Angeles Clippers in the Orlando Summer League. The all-time winningest Bulldog in program history saw action in four games where he averaged 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. He saw 26 minutes of action against the Orlando White team, notching seven points and four assists.
Kyser, the all-time blocks leader in program history, made the summer league roster for the New Orleans Pelicans after attending their mini-camp. He saw action in three games in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 1.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest.
Seeing action in both the Orlando and Las Vegas Summer League was former Dunkin’ Dog Jaron Johnson. He initially played four games for the Indiana Pacers before being chosen to be part of the NBA D-League Select team.
Johnson went on to compete in four games for D-League Select where he averaged 11.2 points per game, second most on the team. He also averaged a team-high 5.2 rebounds to go along with 3.0 assists per game. His highlight game came against Houston where he registered 17 points and eight boards in the win.
