(Montgomery, Ala.) After logging one of the most impressive regular seasons in Wolf Pack history during the 2017 campaign, five members of the Loyola University New Orleans women’s golf team earned Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) honors at this evening’s SSAC women’s golf awards banquet held in Montgomery, Alabama.

Leading the way for the Wolf Pack on Monday was senior Julchen Narwark as she earned SSAC All-Conference, SSAC All-Academic and SSAC Musco Lighting Champions of Character Team accolades. Narwark’s three accolades on Monday not only were the most by a member of Loyola’s team but they were also the highest number of awards received by any student-athlete at the event.

A SSAC All-Conference selection in 2015, Narwark continued to show improvement throughout the 2017 season. Appearing in all four spring tournaments, Narwark finished the regular season with four top-20 finishes, highlighted by two T2 finishes which netted the senior two All-Tournament Team selections. Narwark started the year by finishing tied for second at the Claud Jacobs Invitational, despite battling an allergic reaction she suffered during a practice round. Following a 163 (+19) which landed her tied for ninth at the Faulkner Invitational, Narwark carded her lowest tournament score of the year (150, +6) at the TWU Bojangles Spring Invitational – giving Julchen her second All-Tournament Team nod of the season.

Joining Narwark on the SSAC All-Conference squad was sophomore standout Daria Delfino (SO/Cranston, R.I.). The Rhode Island native had a solid all-around spring season, placing inside the top-17 in each of the three tournaments that she competed in. Delfino was the lone member of the Wolf Pack to earn medalist honors in 2017 as the sophomore took first place at the TWU Bojangles Spring Invitational after shooting a 149 (+5) to pace the field. Delfino’s win in Tennessee marked the second victory her career and just the third time in program history that a Wolf Pack women’s golfer has won a tournament.

2017 marks the first time in the history of Loyola women’s golf that two members of the team received SSAC All-Conference honors in the same season.

Majoring in molecular biology, senior Alexis Hazard (SR/Pensacola, Fla.) was named to this year’s SSAC All-Academic Team for the third-straight season. Hazard appeared in all four spring tournaments during the 2017 season, with her best finish coming at the Faulkner Spring Invite where she carded a 172 (+28) to end the event tied for 24th.

Making her third appearance on the SSAC All-Academic team, Megan Keck (SR/Sedalia, Mo.) has competed in all four tournaments this season. Majoring in biology, Keck has three top-30 finishes this year, highlighted by her T16 finish at the Faulkner Spring Invitational on March 7.

Wrapping up this group of talented student-athletes was sophomore Abigail Alton (SO/Beaumont, Texas) who landed on the SSAC All-Academic Team for the first time in her career. Majoring in Engineering, Alton appeared in one tournament during the 2017 season, finishing tied for 53rd at March’s TWU Bojangles Spring Invitational.

The Wolf Pack is currently fifth after day one of the SSAC Championships. Loyola will return to action at the Arrowhead Country Club tomorrow, April 25, with the first swing set for 8:00 a.m.
