RUSTON, La. – On Friday morning, Louisiana Tech head coach Matt Nantais made another splash announcing the signing of Kaitlyn Eder to the Lady Techster Bowling program.
Eder will enter the program with high marks both on the lanes and in the classroom, looking to make an immediate impact next fall for LA Tech.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Kaitlyn to our program,” Nantais said. “She is bringing a lot of tournament experience that will help next year. She also has the academic and athletic drive for excellence that makes her an ideal fit for Louisiana Tech.”
She has competed at the Teen Masters National Finals over the past three years, one of which she registered a top-3 finish in her division. This past season Eder also registered a second-place finish in the Pepsi Youth Tournament with an average score of 212.
In 2015, she was award the National High Sport Average Star with an average score of 186 and in 2012 she competed with Team USA, helping lead her squad to a first-place finish at the Tournament of the Americas.
For three consecutive seasons, Eder has been named Female Bowler of the Year in the Tampa Youth Travel League.
Eder also proved to be a well-rounded student, as a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Students, Science National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. In 2016 Eder was awarded the Pepsi Florida Sportsmanship Award after that second-place finish.
