2014 NBA All-Star Weekend

It isn’t done. But it’s close.

New Orleans officials are closing in on a deal with the NBA to host the 2017 All Star Game and are in the process of ironing out details, multiple league sources told The Advocate.

If everything goes to plan, there is a formal announcement expected to take place early next week, sources said. Rumors surfaced two weeks ago that the Crescent City was the “frontrunner” to take the game after the NBA decided to remove it from Charlotte.

The game is scheduled for Feb. 19.
