Cowboys fifth at LSU Tiger Classic

BATON ROUGE – Daniel O’Loughlin scored rounds of 76 and 72 at the one-day, Tiger Golf Classic on Thursday to lead McNeese as the Cowboys finished fifth in the seven-team tournament that was played at The University Club.

O’Loughlin tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard. LSU’s Nathan Jeansonne won the individual title with a 9-under 135 after rounds of 67 and 68.

LSU won the event with a team score of 582 after rounds of 295 and 287.

McNeese posted a first round team score of 306 followed by a 307 in the second round.

The Cowboys’ Blake Elliot shot rounds of 77-77 to finish in a tie for 18th on the individual leaderboard with teammate Duncan McNeill who also shot a 154 with rounds of 75-79.

Ian Berrigan shot rounds of 78-79, Andreas Krokeide 81-79 and Nicklas Mattner, playing as an individual, 80-81.

This was the final regular season tournament for the Cowboys, who will next play to defend their Southland Conference title April 24-26 at the SLC Championships.
