HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana designated hitter Webb Bobo, UL Lafayette outfielder Steven Sensley and LSU pitcher Alex Lange were named the LSWA Collegiate Baseball Players of the Week after their respective performances on the diamond this weekend.
Bobo enjoyed his best week of the season, going 5-for-8 (.625) at the plate with a pair of home runs and four RBI in a three-game sweep of Central Arkansas. He picked up hits in all three games over the weekend, homering in back-to-back plate appearances against the Bears.
The senior from Prattville, Alabama, went a combined 4-for-6 with a home run and three RBI in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday before going 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Sunday’s 3-2 win. He posted a 1.375 slugging percentage during the three games and a .727 on-base percentage.
Sensley was instrumental in the Cajuns 4-1 week hitting .412 (7-for-17) with seven RBI and four extra base hits including his 10th home run of the year. Lange turned in a brilliant effort on Thursday, firing a five-hit shutout to defeat No. 13-ranked Auburn.
The players were nominated by their respective sports information directors and selected by a panel of statewide media members.
