Baseball Report: John Curtis downs De La Salle

John Curtis whipped De La Salle 8-1 at Mike Miley Stadium in Metairie.

The Patriots (11-4) scored two runs in the bottom of the first and added single runs in the second and third innings to take a 4-0 lead. After the Cavaliers scored a run in top of the fifth, Curtis answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning to lead 5-1 and scored three runs in the sixth to put the game away.

The Patriots had eight hits while De La Salle committed three errors. Cade Beloso led the attack with three hits and two RBI while Dax Ford added a pair of RBI for the Patriots. Ian Landreneau went the distance, allowing just one run on three hits, striking out ten for the victory. Conner Haynes took the loss for De La Salle.

The Cavaliers (13-3) return to action today at 4 p.m. against Pope John Paul II at 4 p.m. at Mike Miley Stadium while Curtis hosts St. Paul’s at 7 p.m. at Mike Miley Stadium.
