Hunt Conroy singled home Tripp in the bottom of the seventh to give Jesuit a dramatic 3-2 victory over Central Lafourche in the Gerard Oubre Memorial Tournament at John Ryan Stadium Friday night.

With a host of Jesuit baseball alumni in attendance, Conroy delivered the game-winner to end the second straight one-run victory for the Blue Jays over the Trojans in as many days. Jesuit honored its 2002 and 2007 state championship teams before the game.

Jesuit scored a run in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead before Central Lafourche tied with a run in the top of the second. Jesuit recaptured the lead in the bottom of the second when Marc Theberge doubled and scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-1. The Trojans tied it with a run in the top of the sixth, setting the stage for Conroy’s heroics in the bottom of the seventh.

Jesuit defeated Central Lafourche 4-3 on Thursday.

The Blue Jays (11-5) have now won four straight games and face a tough doubleheader Saturday in the Oubre tournament. Jesuit plays at Destrehan at 10 a.m. and plays at Hahnville at 2 p.m. The Trojans (7-7) have now lost four straight and will face Brother Martin this afternoon at noon at Hahnville.
