Banks and Richard competed in Seminole Twilight

(New Orleans, La.) – Loyola track & field athletes Leah Banks and Jarrett Richard represented the Wolf Pack at the Seminole Twilight at Florida State University in Tallahasse, Florida on Friday morning.

Banks started the day with a personal best throw of 10.97 meters in the women’s shot put, good enough for a fourth place finish overall.

The sophomore also turned in a few top ten finishes in both the javelin and the women’s long jump.

Banks recorded a leap of 5.2 meters in the long jump for a ninth place finish in the event. Banks also finished fourth overall in the javelin, completing a toss 27.1 meters.

Freshman Jarrett Richard finished 15th overall in the 100 meter dash, coming across the finish line with a time of 11.03.

Several members of the track & field team will compete in the NAIA National Championships on May 25-27 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
