A lifelong resident of South Louisiana, Randy Pistorius is currently working in the communications field in the Baton Rouge Metropolitian Area. His start in journalism came while still in high school at De La Salle in New Orleans, and it carried with him to Southeastern Louisiana University where he wrote for the Lions Roar and also worked in Intercollegiate Athletics.
His work at SLU in Intercollegiate Athletics and Journalism led to a position as Sports Information Director at Texas Wesleyan University where he gained valuable experience working in a major metropolitian market in the United States.
Upon return to New Orleans, Randy worked in his family’s business and also assisted the University Of New Orleans Athletics Department with Game Operations and Media Relations duties for several years. He Worked four NCAA Championship events and several Sun Belt Conference events.
His work with UNO led him to join the team of Ken Trahan’s Original Prep Football Report in the Fall of 2002. Randy helped the long-running show return to the air in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. He has served as part of the WGSO/SportsNOLA.com state football championship coverage crew. Randy has also worked at WGSO Radio in Operations, News and Sports as a producer and researcher for many shows.
In 2003, Pistorius begame working with ABC 26 WGNO-TV Friday Night Football with Ed Daniels and J.T. Curtis behind the scenes.
Randy has also been part of the Press Box Staff for Tulane University Football, the Allstate Sugar Bowl and the R & L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. He has also worked with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation as a Volunteer for many events as well with the main event being Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 in New Orleans
Currently, Pistorius assists sportsNOLA with coverage and participates on select WHNO-TV broadcasts.
